Bodies of water rest easily in their cradles on the earth,
seeking their own levels of perfection
they are ever pulled by the earth,
carried to the heavens by the sun
they are ever pulled by the earth,
carried to the rivers by the mother
they are ever sought after for their perfection.
Filled with light I float on the surface,
evaporating upward with my next of kin,
condensing in the sky with my sisters, cousins,
comrades and lovers,
clouds of us drifting between heaven and earth,
floating on unseen currents,
flowing into the cradle of Life after water
we seek our own levels of perfection.
How can I,
who am just beginning,
know anything about the end?
How can there be a beginning
when there is an eternity to live
and infinity to explore?
and
How can I,
who am soon ending,
know anything about the beginning?
How can there be an end
when there is an eternity to live
and infinity to explore?
Robbing Hood, Robbing Hood,
Doest thou deeds of only good?
Me thinks not.
Me thinks thou robs from rich.
Why don't you get a job, you dirty bum, and earn your keep?
You stealer of goats and cows and sheep.
You say that money you take not
but that you did take lots of money and no other thing?
Tell me, why do you wear a woman's ring?
You say you give it to the poor
and that you ask for nothing more
than kind words in return?
Durn, you're not as bad as I once thought.
What?
You want my wallet?
Don't you know that sinners who,
by life profane,
Do not the Golden Gates obtain
But walk the broad and winding path
And find that glory they hath not
Sit and wish for cooling rain
to beat upon the window pane
which melted in the hellish heat,
And watch for friends whom one might greet,
Search around for cooling shade
and wonder who sells lemonade.
Ah, but woe be to the sinful one
who stabbed his brother with a gun.
His reward will be fire and hurt,
Meals of rock and desserts of dirt,
And movies of the faithful men who,
up in Glory free from sin,
Delight in grapes and honey and milk,
Clothes of velvet and shoes of silk.
Ah, how fortunate to be
taken up above the sea
Into the sky where Angels work
with God who has a G on his sweatshirt.
